GCE Computer Studies
Structured theory and computer-based practical revision covering hardware, information systems, programming, spreadsheets and databases, based on the held 2016 and 2017 papers.
The papers
Paper 1
Structured theory
A two hour thirty minute written paper with compulsory structured questions. The held 2017 paper separates shorter questions in Section A from a longer systems case study in Section B; practise precise explanations, algorithms and application tasks.
Paper 2
Computer-based practical
The held practical paper allows one hour thirty minutes for two compulsory tasks using spreadsheet and database software. Candidates save screenshots in a word-processing evidence document and print it; the exercises here describe actions and expected results.
