ECZ · GCE Exam Companion
GCE History
History 2167 covers Central and Southern African societies, colonial rule and independence alongside world diplomacy, conflict, development and international cooperation.
The papers
Paper 1
Central and Southern African history
The later reference papers use compulsory short-answer tasks in two sections, followed by one essay choice for each region, for 100 marks in 2 hours 15 minutes. The 2016 paper instead asks for three extended answers, with no more than two from one section, in 1 hour 30 minutes.
Paper 2
World history and contemporary issues
The later papers combine compulsory structured tasks on the periods before and after 1945 with one essay choice from each period, for 100 marks in 2 hours 15 minutes. The 2016 version requires three extended answers with a section limit; these practice banks use original written questions, not multiple choice.
